Tablet PC Users-Consumer Tech Index
Product Description
Tablets PCs are hot, hot, hot, and consumers are taking sides. Some choose Apple iPads while others choose an Android tablet. Our research is revealing that the earliest adopters for Tablet PCs are not the typical early tech adopters. Although these innovators weigh in, other groups include people using a Tablet PC as their only mobile PC, and even kids are getting into the fun.
This Consumer Tech Index reveals some surprises about the people who use Tablet PCs.
For example, Tablet PC users use them more often than the general population in cybercafes, post offices, libraries, copy shops, and client locations. These early Tablet PC users are not only using them at home on the couch!
They are more advanced than typical users, with a higher share of using complex software activities such as CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacturing), although not on their Tablets. They use cloud-based sharing services to access a remote PC. Despite their acumen, they have an index over 250 in planning to buy an extended warranty (3 or more years) as well as a Home PC installation service.
Today’s Tablet PC users are also active communicators, indexing at over 200 in the use of VoIP and webcam videoconferencing calls. They are also active users of cloud-based services to share files, music, and images. They are also interconnected through social networks, with an index over 200 for use of Google+, as well as using their smartphone to redeem coupons and daily deals.
These are only a few examples of the many characteristics that set Tablet PC users apart from the crowd and make them such an attractive market.
